Experimentation Transformation in Contact

Real-world experimentation connecting defense, industry, and emerging technologies in contested environments.

In Action

Experimentation: Transforming in Contact (EXTiC) is a structured operational experimentation program led through the Defense Innovation OnRamp Hub: Arizona to help the Department of War rapidly integrate, test, and evaluate emerging technologies alongside Warfighters in operationally relevant environments. EXTiC focuses on identifying, validating, and transitioning new capabilities aligned to strategic priorities while giving Joint Command participants realistic scenarios to assess how technologies perform as part of a complete mission thread.

EXTiC’s purpose is to find, vet, validate, and integrate new and emerging capabilities that align to strategic priority areas, while giving Joint Command participants realistic scenarios to evaluate how technologies perform as part of a complete mission thread—not as isolated demonstrations.
